Radiography
The clinic is equipped with an X-ray unit combined with a rapid development. This equipment allows through the emission of X-rays, through the tissues, to print a film with a 2-dimensional. This technique allows to view different areas of the body:
- The Thorax by assessing of the heart volume(heart-off), the densities of the bronchi and lungs (bronchitis, pneumonia, pleurisy ...)
- The abdomen with the assessment of volumes of various organs like the liver, spleen, prostate and uterus. It can also detect the presence of foreign bodies (stomach or intestines) or calculations (bladder and kidney).
- The bones and joints to explore growth disorders, fractures, dysplasia (hips and elbows), bone tumors and of course all the injuries. After administration of a contrast product, compression of spinal cord can be detected.
- The digestive and urinary transits can be monitored after injections of a radiographic visible product.
Ultrasonography
This method allows, by using ultrasonic waves to reconstruct a dynamic image of the different tissues. You can explore the internal structure of organs (kidney, liver, pancreas, bladder, spleen, prostate ...), and dynamic functional dynamics of the heart.
This is a powerful tool to explore cardiac function for which the study of still images is not sufficient. Any heart failure should lead to perform an echocardiogram (breath, unusual fatigue, cough ...).
Ultilisation of this material is totally painless and usually requires no anesthesia.
It is also used to monitor pregnancies, beautiful pictures indeed!
Endoscopy
This allows medical device, using an optical fiber and a miniature camera, to explore areas inaccessible to other imaging methods such as radiology or ultrasound, which we already practiced at the Clinic. With this instrument, allowing the exploration of the digestive tract (endoscopy, colonoscopy, gastroscopy, biopsies digestives ...) and respiratory (respiratory fibroscopy, search spikelets and lesions invisible to x-ray ... ), a more rapid diagnosis can be established for your pet during a short general anesthesia.
This technique allows to perform intestinal biopsies without external scarring, thereby minimizing the risk of complications.
The equipment is sterilized for each use, biopsy forceps are single-use instruments.
